Hamtramck Review

Quick Hits

Now here’s a novel idea – but perhaps a little weird. The Downtown Development Authority has recruited art students to “spruce up” windows of a vacant stores and buildings on Jos. Campau.
The students will paint seasonal themes, and the first building to get a makeover is the former Shoppers World this Thursday.
DDA Manager Darren Grow concedes it’s an attempt to “camouflage” the number of vacant stores in the city’s main business district, but it is better than looking at empty windows. Hopefully, the coming new year will see a turnaround for Jos. Campau.
If you are a property owner interested in participating or a local artist interest in providing art work call Grow at (313) 870-0346.
